Spain, US to screen Iran’s ‘I am Zal’

Iran's short film ‘I am Zal’ is to participate at Spain Moving Images Festival and the BoVi FIlm Festival.

Iranian short film ‘I am Zal’ (I am albino) is set to participate at this year’s edition of Spain Moving Images Festival in the Spanish capital of Madrid and the BoVi FIlm Festival in the United States.

‘I am Zal’ will be featured at the 4th Spain Moving Images Festival and the 7th BoVi FIlm Festival.

Written and directed by Houman Naderi, ‘I am Zal’ tells the story of a boy with Albinism who is supposed to play the role of the legend of Albinism in a school play, but his mother just like last time punishes him and wants to stop him from taking part in the show.

Daniel’s teachers notice that he has been once again beaten, but this time they stand up against his mother.

The film was named the Best Film at the 14th edition of the Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) in Australia.

The 7th BoVi Film Festival, which showcases and celebrates student work in film, will take place on April 24-25, while the 4th Spain Moving Images Festival, which is especially dedicated to emerging Asian filmmakers and artists, will be held on June 20-30.
